When I was a pastor, we used to talk a lot about helping people move from sitting in rows on Sunday to circling up in small groups during the week. Because we knew—that’s where real life change happens.
But leading people toward real growth is never automatic. It takes clarity, intentionality, and constant realignment. So, we built our strategy around three simple questions:
1. Is it easy to understand where we’re leading people?
Confused people don’t move. If the destination is fuzzy, the next step is unlikely to happen. But when people are clear on the direction, momentum builds.
2. Is it strategic to have this be the next step?
Just because something is good doesn’t mean it belongs on your roadmap. Great leaders know how to say no to side quests and stay laser-focused on the main thing. The next step should lead somewhere that matters.
3. Is it obvious how to take that next step?
Even the best vision will stall out if it’s hard to engage. Remove the friction. Make it so clear and simple that people can say yes without hesitation.
Whether you’re leading a team, growing a business, launching a product, or building a ministry, these three filters still apply.
Clear leadership creates forward motion.
So here’s the challenge this week: What part of your leadership journey needs to be easier, more strategic, or more obvious?
Start there. Simplify. Align. Clarify.
It works. Every time.
