(Hollywood Disagrees)

Another thing Hollywood has taught us, often without us realizing it, is that drama and controversy are the only stories worth telling.

Conflict. Chaos. Tension. Plot twists.

If nothing is blowing up, breaking down, or falling apart… it must be boring.

I think that’s wrong.

Some of the best stories, the ones that actually sustain a life, a family, a business, or a ministry… are steady, faithful, and quiet. They don’t make great movies. But they make great lives.

Showing up.
Doing the work.
Keeping your word.
Following through.
Building systems that work when no one is watching.

There’s a reason Scripture pushes against the cultural obsession with drama:

“…make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands…” — 1 Thessalonians 4:11

That verse doesn’t trend on social media.
But it does build trust, margin, and long-term fruit.

Hollywood celebrates the last-minute save, the emotional explosion, the chaotic breakthrough. Real life is usually shaped by something far less exciting: consistency.

And here’s where this connects to leadership.

A well-supported leader doesn’t look dramatic from the outside.
Things just… work.

Meetings happen.
Details are handled.
Follow-ups don’t slip.
Loose ends get tied.

That kind of leadership doesn’t create headlines, but it creates peace.

And peace is wildly underrated.

If your life or leadership feels louder than it needs to be, the solution usually isn’t more urgency or more hustle. It’s fewer fires and better systems. It’s support that allows you to work faithfully, think clearly, and live a little quieter.

No drama really is the best drama, even if Hollywood disagrees.
