Today, I’m letting my bias show.
“This might get juicy… Micah’s about to get political!” 🎤
No, but it’s better than that. Hear me out…
We live in an overstimulated, overconnected environment. Messages, meetings, notifications, podcasts, pings, and posts—nonstop.
As a leader, your ability to think clearly and lead wisely is directly tied to your ability to quiet the noise. And in an age where nobody seems to stop talking, one of the most powerful things you can do is this:
Practice silence. 🤫
Not just to “hear yourself think”… but to listen for the voice that truly matters.
As a former pastor and church planter, I’m convinced of this: there is no substitute for the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. And it rarely breaks through when the world is screaming.
Solitude is not escapism. It’s alignment.
It’s where your courage is renewed.
It’s where your values are re-centered.
It’s where your soul gets re-anchored in truth.
When you create intentional space for silence and solitude, something sacred happens:
- You remember who you are.
- You remember whose you are.
- You remember what actually matters.
Leaders don’t just need clarity. We need communion — with the One who created us and calls us.
You don’t need a monastery. You need a moment.
Find 15 minutes this week.
Turn off the noise.
Turn down the distractions.
Tune in to the Holy Spirit.
You may be surprised how loud God’s whisper is when everything else gets quiet.
